Tarte

I have been looking for a new natural tinted moisturizer for a while now and I FINALLY found it!! Tarte cosmetics.....and I am loving more than just their tinted moisturizer. My personal fav being these Amazonian Clay products. Plus everything is free parabens, phthalates and synthetic fragrances just to name a few.

The tinted moisturizer I got is the Smooth Operator in Agent 14 (AKA Disguise)

Formulated without:
Mineral Oil
Parabens
Petrolatum
Phthalates
Sodium Laurel Sulfate
Synthetic Dye
Synthetic Fragrance

Not to mention it actually covers really well like a foundation but doesn't feel thick or caked on.
I also got the Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay bronze finishing powder......LOVE! I have the oiliest skin ever, I literally look like slick Rick in a matter of minutes and with this I notice I am not near as oily as quickly or in general.
Mattifies skin, minimizes the appearance of pores and replenishes all skin types, while adding a natural touch of bronze to your complexion. This silky smooth finishing powder glides on evenly and imparts a healthy, natural warmth while the intuitive and skin smart Amazonian clay, nature's most perfect ingredient, acts as a total skin balancer by reducing dryness and flakiness, improving clarity and texture, and removing surface oil to mattify skin for a soft and flawless lit-from-within finish; all while replenishing and rehydrating skin.

Bonus: When I went to their website today they are having a sale until July 11 - 20% off!! Enter code: FRWRK at checkout ; )

Incase your wondering, my new everyday face makeup face products are as follows:

Naturally Beautiful...

In all the books I have read over the last couples of years, whether about physcology, beauty, health, diet, they all agree on the same thing...

To insure a lifetime of healthy, vibrant good looks and an energetic body, a real natural beauty, there are 7 key things you must observe and maintain in your lifestyle.

  • Daily cleansing
  • Maximal nutritional intake
  • Regular consumption of water
  • Regular elimination of internal AND external toxic buildup
  • Daily movement
  • Moderate exposure to sunlight
  • Sound sleep

1.Daily Cleansing: (obviously!)
Because your skin in constantly excreting wastes and shed-ding dead
skin debris, daily cleansing is a must. ALWAYS wash your face and body before bed!

2.Maximal nutritional intake: (YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT)
As Americans we are often overfed and undernourished. Eating a diet high in white processed flour, fatty meat and cheese, excess sodium, trans-fatty acids, preservatives, white sugar, minimal fiber, and artificial  coloring you will continue to suffer from lack of energy and vitality and have a variety of aches, pains, and illnesses. It directly affects how we look...lifeless hair, brittle nails, dull skin, ect...
*remember if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!

THE QUICKEST AND LEAST EXPENSIVE WAY TO CHANGE YOUR LOOKS AND FEEL BETTER MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY IS TO CLEAN UP YOUR DIET!!!

Not sure how many of you realize this yet but the majority of todays processed foods is not made or raised for that matter, for the benefit of our health but for corporate profits!! Messed up and hard to believe at times but it is what it is!

To maximize your nutritional intake you should consume daily a wide variety of foods in their whole, natural, preferably organic, unprocessed state. Plenty of posts to come on this matter :)

3. Regular consumption of water:
Water keeps your skin plump and hydrated and nutrients flowing to your newly forming skin, hair and nail cells. Your body literally can't function without water. It lubricates every part part of your body.
You cannot be beautiful, energetic and healthy without  sufficient water intake. It's a fact that a dehydrated person ages prematurely and is exhausted.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER!

4. Regular elimination of internal and external toxic buildup:
Your skin serves as the interface between your inner and otter self. To keep both detoxified and comfortably functioning, regular removal of bodily wastes must take place via internal elimination (pooping) and the routine removal of such deposits from the top layer of your skin (dry skin brushing).
Pooping - you should be pooping AT LEAST once a day, technically only pooping once a day is considered constipated!! Increase your fiber, take probiotics, digestive enzymes and magnesium, whatever else you gotta do to POOP!
Dry skin brushing - If you haven't already..read my post on Dry Skin Brushing - Bye Bye Cellulite

5. Daily movement:
Regular exercise increases lymphatic flow and circulation, improves digestion, stimulates your metabolic rate and the process of waste removal from the internal organs and skin, and delivers a surge of oxygen to your body, invigorating every organ and allowing your skin to take on radiance.
FACT: Daily exercise is vital to your emotional well-being. It is a natural antidepressant.
If you can try and exercise in the fresh air and sunshine as often as possible and vigorously enough so that you work up a good sweat. Sweating cools your skin and eliminates waste through your pores.

6. Moderate exposure to sunlight:
This does not mean baking in the sun for hours. All living things..plants, animals, and people NEED at least a little sunshine in order to thrive and survive. Moderate sun exposure is good for you in numerous ways. 30-45 minutes daily of unprotected exposure to sunlight early in the morning or in the very late afternoon are best.

7. Sound sleep:
Nighttime is the right time...for renewal and those hours when you sleep are the vital hours your body repairs and rejuvenates.
It's not a coincidence it's also known as BEAUTY SLEEP!!

* All statements were quoted from a collection of books! It's not like I make this shit up..it's FACT! Get with the program!! : )~

Scrub a dub dub!

For all coffee lovers, cellulite sufferers and anyone who wants soft glowing skin.

A super easy do it yourself 'organic' body scrub, all you need is...

100% Organic Jojoba Oil
I like and use one by Desert Essence

Organic Coffee
Any organic brand is fine just make sure it is not decaf!

I have a small glass bowl in my shower that I just pour a little bit of coffee into before I get in, then before I get out of the shower I squirt in enough of the Jojoba oil to bind it all together, not too much though. Then just scrub a dub dub! The smell is lovely especially since I don't drink coffee anymore it gives me my fix! I feel like the coffee gives me a little color too, not like a tan just a nice glow. Also exfoliates and makes my skin oh so soft, no need to put lotion on after the shower ;) I know normally you would exfoliate then shave but with this I do the opposite this way once I'm done I just rinse off then get out of shower nice and soft, don't want to shave off my nice layer of jojoba oil, not that it would prolly make much difference but it's just how I've been doing it.

Anyway caffeinated coffee when applied as a body scrub especially to thighs is known to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite ;) If you check most cellulite reducing firming lotions on the market most will have caffeine as one of the ingredients.
Not too mention all the benefits of the jojoba oil, I will do a post on that another time, I love the stuff, waaaaaaaaaaaay better and better for you than any Neutrogena body oil or Palmers body oil.
You could always use olive oil too!

The best part of wakin up....is a jojoba coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee scruuuuub! LOL

Overnight Acne Treatment

FINALLY a spot (pimple) treatment that actually works!!! I am LOVING this stuff!!
A few weeks ago when I ordered the Egyptian Magic from UrbanOutfitters.com I also ordered this acne spot treatment.

$22 (also added it to 'My Store')
*FYI..I will add everything I blog about (products anyway) in 'My Store', don't want to keep having to say that, I feel like I'm selling something and I'm not!!!

It's AMAZING!!! Totally different from anything you've ever used I'm sure. Kinda hard to describe. Basically the top of the jar is a clear liquid then the bottom portion in the white sediment, looks like you would shake the bottle but you don't!! You dip a cotton swab in the sediment then dab on pimple. It's like acid but doesn't hurt like I imagine acid would, if that makes sense.

No makeup, ready for bed!
It's white so not meant to be used during the day, only overnight.

Best yet, it's NATURAL ; ) which I just gotta say so far I am loving all my new all natural  beauty regimen. I've taken it way beyond just paraben free, but you'll have to wait to hear.

INGREDIENTS: active sulfur, salicylic acid, organic camphor and zinc ioxide

Apple Cider Vinegar

Many people claim apple cider vinegar to be the "Wonder Drug". Unlike other vinegars apple cider vinegar, due to it's natural processing, contains more enzymes and minerals than any other vinegar. It is rich in antioxidants like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, beta carotene, three different forms of Vitamin B, bioflavonoids, ect....and many minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, sulfur, iron, ect.
All these ingredients help in fighting bacteria and reducing inflammation which is why it is claimed to be one of the best natural ACNE cures!!!
It is also claimed to be helpful with constipation, headaches, arthritis, weak bones, indigestion, high cholesterol, diarrhea..cha cha cha, eczema, sore eyes, chronic fatigue, mild food poisoning, hair loss, high blood pressure, obesity, along with many more...as you can see this is why it is also none as the 'Wonder Drug'

Note: It must be the REAL apple cider vinegar, which of course is RAW , UNFILTERED and ORGANIC in order for it to be beneficial. It's not clear! It is a brownish color and you will see like some gunk floating in it, this is none as 'mother' and means it's of good quality with all the nutrients and health giving properties intact.

I have and use Braggs

Note: With The "Mother"

Different ways of consumption:
As a health tonic (drink) - Take 2 tablespoons of ACV to one cup water and drink. If your not a fan of vinegar then chug quickly LOL! You can add a little honey to it if you like, raw organic honey is best!
They say it is best to do this first thing in the morning. Doing it first thing in the morning helps eliminate constipation, which is the cause of many diseases.
For acne, they recommend doing it first thing in the morning and right before bed and that you should see a difference in your skin in about 3 weeks with improved skin texture and leaving you radiant and glowing.
You can also use the ACV on salads as a dressing or as a base for a marinade for meats with an assortment of spices.

For acne it can also be used as a face toner and spot treatment for pimples.
Face toner: Get an empty bottle (I used a travel size bottle I had laying around) and take one part ACV to 3 parts water. Apply this to acne to prone areas with a cotton ball, up to twice a day. Followed by a moisturizer as the ACV will dry up your face.
I just made a bottle of it yesterday but haven't tried it yet, I will let you know my thoughts on it, I'm hoping I doesn't make my face smell like vinegar, that wouldn't be cool ; /

As a spot treatment just take the toner mix and put on the tip of a cotton swab and dab on pimple, up to twice a day!

ACV is also known for getting rid of warts including difficult plantar warts on the bottom of the foot. Soak a piece of cotton with ACV and put on wart covering with a bandaid every night until gone. Time varies from person to person.

Braggs also makes these drinks with their ACV and I think they are great!

My favorite is the Apple Cinnamon, taste like your drinking an apple pie! ; )~

OK well just wanted to share, I'm gonna start doing the tonic every morning and before bed. I have been doing it most mornings since I got back from Spain but realized a few days ago I was only doing 2 teaspoons or less not 2 tablespoons like it says so...
Also do the toner every so often as long as it doesn't make me reek of vinegar, I guess if it did doing it at night would be the best option...
We'll see.....

For all my oily ass bitches - It's MAGIC! Egyptian Magic!

So I have figured out a few things about oily skin in my recent natural paraben free skin routine.
Having oily acne prone skin I already know that if you dry out your skin with harsh products and don't moisturize your skin it will over produce more oil to compensate for you drying it out....not good! So most of us with oily skin will only moisturize with 'Oil Free' moisturizer and all skin care products must be oil free because we are told that oil is bad.
Well really it's not bad, those with oily skin tend to have less wrinkles (fact)! The problem is bacteria + oil = acne so keeping bacteria away is the issue, easier said than done I know!
Well after purchasing my RMS beauty products and removing my makeup with the coconut cream I realized that I don't need to be scared of oil as long as they are raw organic natural oils. Synthetic oils are what we need to stay away from!!!
I recently bought 'Egyptian Magic' from www.urbanoutfitters.com they have a beauty section and a lot of natural organic products so this stuff caught my attention. I bought it thinking it would be used as a night time body lotion but oh my it's so much more than that.

Egyptian Magic probably has garnered more kudos in the fashion press than any comparable product in the world.
From Japan to Australia to Europe and the US, the Fashion Press agrees that Egyptian Magic is a "must-have" beauty and skin care product. It improves your complexion, heals scars, relieves many skin ailments, leaves your hair with a lustrous sheen, and more.

Kate Hudson uses it on her hair (well atleast People Magazine says so)

Anyway at night I take the tiniest amount and pat some at the corners of my eyes then take the rest and blend it all over my face. It feels lovely. Instantly calms my skin and makes it feel great! A little goes along way. I wouldn't use this on my face during the day, it would be too much BUT it's the perfect night cream! I SWEAR my face is less oily when I wake up when I use this stuff.
So I have come to the conclusion that my skin doesn't feel the need to produce oil when it already oiled up, if that makes sense ha!
I would never think in a million years I would be putting oils on my face, but I'm loving it and especially this stuff!

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Pollen AND ROYAL JELLY!
See my post on Royal Jelly - Be the Queen Bee, for all the amazing benefits of royal jelly.

I also take a little bit and rub it all over my body at night, I'm serious a LITTLE goes a long way!!

I bought mine from Urban Outfitters online for $37 but I just found out they sell it at Whole Foods as well.
Here is the link to Urban Outfitters

And here is the link to Egyptian Magic http://www.egyptianmagic.com/
Check it out they have a bunch of testimonial videos of people raving about this stuff!

I also added it to 'My Store' under I have I love I use, it's $29.95

Do your self a favor and get your self some!!

My favorite foundation!

As you may already know I've been on a more natural paraben free makeup regimen these days! And even before that I rarely ever wore foundation. (I don't consider tinted moisturizer or mineral powder a 'foundation') I'm talking about liquid or cream foundations!

But when I do it's Rain Cosmetics, Perfect Cream Foundation in Tropical! It's the BOMB!

Today I was having one of those days where I was feeling "EXTRA" ugly....uh hate when that happens LOL!

Anyway I hadn't used my Rain foundation in a long time and hadn't applied it with the Beauty Blender yet either.

WOW! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! I didn't even have to apply any concealer or set it with powder and it still looks flawless, without looking over made up.

Rain Cosmetics has a bunch of other products I love, another one being her lip gloss!
Check out Rain Cosmetics here http://www.raincosmetics.com/default.asp

When I say 'her' I am referring to Rain, she is actually a friend of mine and celebrity makeup artist. You may have seen her in the background of a few episodes of Holly's World doing makeup. She did my makeup for my wedding in the Bahamas too!
And NO that's not why I'm saying I love her line (cause she's my friend) it's cause I REALLY DO! You'll have to get some and see for yourself ; )

Magnolia Rose CHANEL Nail Polish

Painted my nails last night, CHANEL Magnolia Rose! I DON'T like it!

I've had this color for about 4 years I think and have only used it maybe twice this time being my third, every time not liking it!
It's a pretty color but just doesn't go good with my skin tone or something...I don't know, anyway tried it again thinking it was a light nude/pink and the plan was to put some of my Hello Kitty nail stickers over it. BUT I decided not to waste the stickers since I'm sooooooo not feeling the color ; /

Oh well, I still suck at this painting my own nails shit anyway.... ERRrrr!

Jamie ; )~
